The Incredible Gizmo

Build it. Run it. Watch it go wrong. Fix it.

The Incredible Gizmo is a physics puzzle game about building gloriously over-engineered contraptions. Every puzzle gives you a goal — pop the balloon, get the walker home, ship the crate — and a box of parts. Place ramps, fans, conveyor belts, rockets, magnets, lasers, trampolines, hamster wheels, alligators and more, press Run, and watch your machine come to life, or fall gloriously apart. Then tweak it and try again.

Nine worlds, and a box of parts

There are more than 170 hand-made puzzles across nine worlds: the Garage, Basement Lab, Attic Workshop, Garden Test Range, Factory, Space Lab, Underwater Lab, Moon Base, and the Impossible Laboratory, where everything falls up.

The parts are the point. More than a hundred of them, and they genuinely interact rather than merely sitting next to each other: fire lights fuses, fans blow balloons, belts drive gears, water floats crates, and lasers mix into new colours. Most of the fun comes from combinations nobody planned for.

Help, without solving it for you

Getting stuck should be interesting, not annoying, so help arrives in stages: a gentle nudge, an X-Ray view showing what every part actually does, a Ghost Start that shows how a working machine begins, and — when you really want it — a full reveal.

The Timeline is the other half of that. Pause, step and rewind to see exactly where the machine went wrong, rather than guessing from the wreckage.

Underneath it all the physics is deterministic: a solution that works once always works. Nothing here is decided by a lucky bounce.

Made for everyone

No ads, no chat between players, and nothing to sign up for — which is a deliberate design constraint rather than a feature we forgot to add, because the game is meant to be handed to a child without supervision.

On Android it is free to start: the first two worlds, thirty-two puzzles, plus the Sandbox, the Daily Challenge and the Community Workshop cost nothing, and a single purchase called Full Engineer unlocks every world. On Steam it is the complete game for a one-time purchase, on Windows, macOS, Linux and Steam Deck.

Sandbox

No goal, every part unlocked, and as much room as you want to build something ridiculous.

Puzzle Creator and Workshop

Design your own puzzles and play everybody else's, with moderation on published entries.
