1. Service description
Lucidmaze provides access to open-weight AI language model inference via an OpenAI-compatible REST API. Our infrastructure is operated by a small, technically focused team using a self-hosted vLLM and LiteLLM stack on dedicated hardware in Portugal.
We do not provide any guarantees of output accuracy, fitness for a specific purpose, or freedom from hallucinations. Users are responsible for validating model outputs before acting on them.
2. Acceptable use
Users must not use the API to:
- Generate content that is illegal under EU or Portuguese law.
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or reproduce model weights.
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks or deliberately abuse rate limits.
- Generate content that violates third-party intellectual property rights.
- Circumvent safety measures or attempt prompt injection attacks against our infrastructure.
- Resell API access without prior written agreement.
3. API keys and account security
- Users are fully responsible for the security of their API keys.
- Keys must not be shared, committed to public repositories, or embedded in client-side code.
- We will suspend keys that show signs of compromise or abuse without prior notice.
- Lost or compromised keys should be reported immediately; we will revoke and reissue them.
4. Service availability
We operate on a best-effort basis. We do not offer a guaranteed SLA for individual users. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain availability and will communicate planned maintenance in advance. We are not liable for losses resulting from service interruptions.
5. Rate limits and fair use
We enforce per-key rate limits and context window limits. Users who consistently exceed fair use thresholds or whose usage degrades service for other users may be throttled or suspended.
6. Billing
Usage is billed based on tokens consumed, including both input and output tokens. Prices are published at lucidmaze.co/pricing. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 14 days written notice. Prepaid credits are non-refundable except where required by EU consumer law.
7. Prohibited content
We operate under EU law. Content that is illegal in the EU, content involving minors in sexual contexts, and content designed to facilitate real-world violence is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to relevant authorities.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Portuguese and EU law, Lucidmaze's liability is limited to the amount paid by the user in the 30 days preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Portugal.
10. Changes to terms
We will provide 14 days notice of material changes via email. Continued use of the API after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
